Gardens is a cutting-edge ecosystem grants funding mechanism that combines an on-chain social contract (the “Covenant”) to provide communities with modular, scalable funding solutions. These solutions can be deployed across multiple instances, empowering diverse ecosystems to access and implement grant funding tailored to their unique needs.
The first funding application built on Gardens v2 is an enhanced Conviction Voting strategy, which builds upon a mechanism rigorously tested and refined over the past three years. We are introducing the Citizen's Registry, a sybil-resistant verification system designed to ensure fairness and legitimacy within the ecosystem.
The Citizen's Registry acts as a gatekeeper, verifying unique participants and enabling secure and equitable access to grants funding and voting processes. By leveraging this tool, we ensure that resources and decision-making power remain distributed among legitimate members of the community, fostering trust and engagement.
Originally conceived by BlockScience in 2019, Conviction Voting serves as a continuous signaling tool, enabling groups to make decisions by leveraging the wisdom of the crowds. This approach ensures that collective decision-making surpasses the capabilities of any single individual or subgroup, making it ideal for scenarios where group intelligence drives optimal outcomes.
