Proposal: Partnering with 1Hive Gardens to Boost DAO Engagement Through Blockscout Merits Integration

Overview:

This proposal aims to establish a collaboration between Blockscout and 1Hive Gardens, integrating Blockscout Merits into Gardens' conviction voting ecosystem. By joining forces, we can promote greater DAO engagement, streamline governance participation, and offer members meaningful rewards for their activities. This initiative will leverage the strengths of both platforms to create a seamless experience that fosters community growth and engagement.

Objectives:

1. Promote Community Growth:
   • Encourage DAO members to participate actively by earning Blockscout Merits for key actions such as creating & joining communities, creating proposals, and engaging in governance decisions on the Gardens Protocol
   • Showcase the merits prominently within the Gardens interface to drive awareness and incentivize interaction.
2. Streamline Governance Participation:
   • Integrate a rewards system into Gardens’ conviction voting mechanism to encourage thoughtful proposal creation and responsible governance.
3. Collaborative Marketing:
   • Highlight this partnership as a unique feature to attract new users to Gardens.

Proposed Actions:

1. Technical Integration:

   • Blockscout will integrate its merit allocation system into 1Hive Gardens, ensuring rewards are tied to actions such as joining communities, submitting proposals, and voting.
     • Smart contracts for these specifics actions need be defined. Furthermore we are looking to reward only Gnosis contracts for the time being.
   • Gardens will incorporate Blockscout merit icons and display total merits earned in governance dashboards.
   • Merit Actions:
     • Join Gardens on Gnosis Chain community
       • Create a Proposal in a Pool
       • Activate Governance in a Pool and Allocate Support
     • Join a Blockscout on Gnosis Chain community (to be set up)
     • Additional actions requested by other Gardens communities

2. Formal Agreement:

   • Establish a formal agreement between Blockscout and Gardens team
   • Collaborate with DAO leaders within 1hive & Gardens to ensure alignment and gather community feedback.

3. Co-Marketing and Communication:

   • Develop a joint marketing campaign featuring blog posts, tutorials, and social media content that highlights the benefits of interacting with Gardens to gain Blockscout Merits.

   Next Steps:

   1. Finalize Agreement:
      • Draft on the formal integration plan with Gardens' core contributors and key DAO stakeholders.
   2. Technical Coordination:
      • Work with the Gardens PM to define technical specifications for showcasing Merits on the UI.
      • Merits will be distributed to participant wallets within a 24h cycle and users can check their balance via the Blockscout Merits UI.
   3. Marketing Rollout:
      • Plan and execute a co-branded campaign to launch the partnership, timed with Gnosis Merits launch.
